Weight loss

Posted on 2011-04-27 16:44:29

Weight loss is always a hot topic especially now that summer is rolling around.  Many patients ask me what my take is on how to lose weight.  There are really only two ways to diet; Low Calorie or Low Carb. and they are completely opposite.  All the stuff that's bad for you  on one is good for you on the other and this causes a lot of confusion and controversy.  So getting back to the which one i recommend when patients ask me.  For most people the easiest and healthiest  way is the low carb method and I know all the low fat low calorie guru's out there are perplexed by that answer but here's way.  From everything I have learned and studied based on how the body metabolizes and stores fat and carbs (our only two fuel sources) everything points to sugar as a primary source of weight gain.

Sugars influence on our body is so powerful that I liken it to a drug or a hormone.  In the absence of sugar our body functions perfectly our body absorbs the nutrients and fuels our needs from our diet.  In the other diet scenario, the one most Americans eat, the sugar drug starts a bad chain of events even before we've swallowed our first bite.  The worst thing it does is cause a spike in our insulin (drug effect) this turns our body into a fuel absorbing machine whether we need the fuel or not.  Removing this effect gives low carb. dieters a huge advantage.

Believe it or not low carbing will even help your cholesterol.

Let me know what you think one way or another I'd love to hear your results or questions.

Testimonials:

“I drive regularly from Stockton to Elk Grove to see Dr. Davidson for my neck.  He's the only one I truly trust to adjust my neck and truthfully, he's the only one that can get my neck to move. He always takes my pain away and I would recommend him to anyone.”

I am the Wife of a Chiropractor and therefore wish to remain anonymous.

“Doctors said there was nothing that could be done because there were three discs that were damaged. After just a few weeks of decompression therapy, I was able to get around better and did not feel so confined to my house. Now I am back to doing everything I used to do.”

“After brain surgery a year ago, I really was in bad shape. I had a lot of pain, stiffness, unbalance and dizziness. I have come a very long way with Dr. Davidson. He is an amazing chiropractor.
Thank you Dr. Davidson, you are the best!”
